Hi Angela

I went to see a neurologist privately last week as I got so fed up waiting on NHS (8 months) he charged £250 for 30 minutes and he was worth every penny, lovely man !! he also has RLS slightly so was much more sympathetic than all the other medical people I have seen, he was very thorough and has written to my doctor with a detailed plan as I have augmentation. He is based in Brighton and his name is Dr Saha I can not praise him high enough,I have found his website romisaha.co.uk

hope this helps

Desperate thats great news! Can you just check before I add him to my list of recommended doctors --Did he actually know about augmentation? Can you tell us which meds have caused your augmentation and what the detailed plan involves? Thank you in advance. .Pipps x

Hi Pipps

Yes he did know about augmentation he did diagnose it, I thought it might be augmentation after what you told me before. I have been on pramepexole 3.15mg prolonged release for approx 1 year, had been on this drug for ages, slowly increasing the dose to where I am now.

The plan is to stop the medication gradually and he also wants me to have loads of blood tests he is also giving me alternative medication (which I can't remember) he is emailing me a copy of the plan that he is sending to my doctor. I will tell you more when I receive my copy.

I would thoroughly recommend Dr Saha he is brilliant.

I did go to the AGM on Saturday in London and found it really interesting, were you there as well ? Thought the speakers were very good.

Regards

Thankyou for this information Desperate. I will definitely be adding Dr Saha to my list! No unfortunately I wasn't at the AGM ,I am recovering from surgery (coccyx removal ) so sitting and travelling is severely limited and I live "way up North " so I couldn't manage it. I am determined to make it next year ---it's one of my goals. I am so pleased that you have found yourself a good Neurologist, they are like gold dust! Best wishes. .Pipps x

Haaaa! Following your link Desperate I see he trained at King's College Hospital, most likely under Professor Chauduri so he will know his stuff! X

It was Dr chaudhuri who diagnosed me in 2003 . For ages I used to email him for advise but sadly he doesn't reply anymore !
