Depends, if I have the energy I surf the net, do emails and stuff like that. I have been an avid gamer for the past 35 years and still play a little, (since developing ME I  am not able to tolerate games for long). I sometimes write a little too.

When I haven't much energy it means lying on the sofa kicking and twisting with the TV for company - those nights are hard!

What way do you make the jewellery beady? Any pics? Is it to occupy yourself or is it to earn a little?

I've been known to spend my nights in a whole manner of ways - I've even took to painting at night, (when the kids were young it was a great way to get it done without having to worry about them getting in the middle of it.

On a clear night, (something of a rarity in Ireland), I like to go out and look at the stars. No serious constellation or plant watching but more to realise I am on a small spinning rock hurtling trough space on a path that it has never taken before on a path it will not travel again!

Hi Beady I am up with you tonight. When I am up I am on my ipad usually on one of the support groups . Sometimes I Co some crafting scrapbooking and card making.Other times if I can't keep still enough to craft I get some housework done  so I am organised ready for the  morning. I take Freddie  (our dog ) for a walk if legs are particularly bad and nothing but marching will do. Beady I am hoping that you are asleep by now  ..Pippins2  x

Hi, I am going to bed now. Not long until morning.  I shall be up with the lark as I have a busy day ahead. I like to do very plain knitting,  nothing taxing, like squares or scarves and send them on to a charity. I am usually just pottering around, there is always something I find needs doing, washing, ironing, indoor plants  watering etc. I leave the vacuuming until the day time though.  ;)

I hope you both get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz s

Night, night,

would love to see some photos of your jewellery :) I have played about with beads etc but in craft work I am pleased you found something constructive to do when your RLS is playing up :)

I don't usually do anything constructive as I am too exhausted and stressed. I have been known to be so exhausted that, half asleep, I do odd things like making gravy or putting things in odd places. It sounds funny now, but can be quite worrying - I sometimes wonder if its the potency of these drugs...

I used to either arch my back, grimace and try not to cuss out loud or, if I had the energy, listen to punk rock on headphones. Now I take Gabapentin which has sorted the nerve agony but not the muscle jumps so I have the freedom of mind, and relief from screaming habdabs,  to get up and edit photos on my computer. At 4.30am I have breakfast. This freaks my brain into believing daytime has begun. The muscle activity duly stops and I get sleep until whenever. Or until the alarm clock tells me I have to do something useful (grrr).

HI Beady, I don't post often cos I have a mild-ish problem with RLS and I have no-one else here so I can do what I want when I want, but I do have a routine with it which is that when it's during the night I will start with slopping hand cream on the jumpy leg (it's only ever one at a time!) then massage hard into the hard muscle that's the result of the muscle spasm, then go back to the bedroom and stand in neutral position ie not leaning forward or back, and play a word game on an older phone that I keep for that purpose.  I find that by taking my mind off the RLS symptoms I can usually settle it in 5 or 10 mins but I don't know for sure till I get back into bed.  Sometimes I have to do this several times over before I fix it.  I also go star-gazing and I have it in my mind to follow the space station as well if ever it comes over at a suitable time.  Luckily I don't have any rush to get up as I'm already retired (cos of health problems).  This condition is so frustrating so thanx everyone for all your support, I read all your posts even if I don't reply often.  Alison
