Thought i have been having it easy just lately. In a lot of pain tonight. Just when I thought I had found the right combination of drugs. :-(

I am back at doctors shortly so I will talk to him about it. I were taking 6mg at one point.

The thing is the higher doses can cause augmentation more readily than the lower doses but many GPs dont realize this and just keep increasing the dose.Have yountried the Neuoro patch?

Not yet no. My neurologist wants me to try this combination until I see him in 6 weeks. Will ask about that, got to be better than popping pills.

oh my god Restless, you're taking a tricyclic antidepressant??? I don't think dosulopen is even available in US which doesn't mean anything but I assume it can't be helping your RLS? That might be 100% of your problem right there. Talk to your doctor. Why doesn't your doctor know that. And give a hairy eyeball to any and all other meds you might be taking. I was just reading about beta blockers (ie propranolol) causing iron deficiency which might aggravate RLS as well. Excuse me, I have to go scream now.

And you know not to stop the dosulopen cold turkey. Seems like you're on a low dose, relatively speaking. But see if your doctor thinks that might be aggravating your RLS as those type of antidepressants tend to do. If he wants you to take some kind of anti-depressant/anti-anxiety med make sure he finds one for you that is RLS friendly. If such a thing exists? To be brutally honest.

Thank you for the advice, its amazing what you find out on here.

Hi restless, do you remember a couple of months ago im your "someone take my legs away post" I told you about the dosulopen being a type of antidepressant that for most people will make your symptoms go mad.I assumed you had already seen your GP over that and were weaning off it . Obviously not so yes definitely check that out.Good luck

Do you mind me showing your comments to my doctor. The reason i ask is that i had a blow to the head and can't remember things without it being down in front of me.

in reply torestless1973

Sorry you having memory problems.Yes copy them if you like but as I always say this is my opinion, It is however well documented that antidepressants worsen RLS in the majority of sufferers and the tricyclics are right there at the top of the list, Good luck

Thank you :-)

Restless look at this website, click on the treatment page and scroll down til you come to a list of anti-depressants which can for most people make RLS worse. There are two which are RLS friendly, but Welbutrin is not used in the UK, if you live here. The other one Trazadone, is used.

rlshelp.org You can use that list to show your doctor. :)
