Hi everyone. Today I have been diagnosed with RLS. What a relief. Tonight I take Ropinirole for the first time. I'm so hoping this will work. I'm exhausted after months of spasms in arms, legs, pelvis and jaw. Here's to a better 2014 for everyone

I have had a hip problem recently and think this is due to the night time spasms. I think once my medication works this will resolve. I think you should discuss with your doctor who will arrange an x-ray to rule out wear and tear.

Just remember that medicating RLS is a trial and error thing. I hope the ropinerole works for you. It takes a while to get going, so the timing of when you take the meds has to be adjusted to your personal schedule until you know how it will affect you. good luck!

What a nice picture! Where do you hail from? I started on Ropinirole on 30/10 last with 0.25mg each morning slowly increasing to my present prescription of 0.50mg in the morning and the same in the evening and must say i am now benefitting from continual nights of sound sleep so i do hope it works for you. However it is worth bearing in mind the experiences of others! I have recently read the notes on rlshelp.org which was supportive i believe of the treatment we are receiving!

best wishes

I'm from Nottinghamshire :)

After my first night on on 0.5mg I'm thinking it would be better to start on 0.25mg. Does anyone know if it is ok to cut the tablet in half?

I am on 2mg of clonazipam twice a day but had to start with 0.5mg so I had to quarter the tablets as they don't come in 0.5mgs. And gradually had to increase it, Not that they work very well, it's all trial and error, I've just not found what's right for me yet :( so I can't see any reason why you can't half your tablet and increase it when you feel like it

My NHS consultant neurologist recommended a strict procedure starting with 0.25mg in the morning and 0.25mg in the evening. After two weeks the evening dose was increased to 0.50mg and after another two weeks the morning dose was increased to 0.50mg. Interestingly this level of prescription is coroberated by the analysis of treatments shown on rlshelp.org
