Hi Gaughanlfc2012, welcome to our on-line stop smoking community
Congratulations on reaching 6 months Let me know your quit date if you remember it and I'll make sure your name goes up on our 'Wall of Winners' - the place where every quitter is a winner
You could be experiencing the sneezing and runny nose for a number of reasons; The only way I would think that it could be associated with smoking would be if you;
a) used an NRT product to help you to stop and are still using it - such as the Nasal spray. If this is the case, let me know and I'll know what I can advise you next.
b) Smoking masks a number of things and could quite possibly have hidden any allergies you may have had. Now that you have stopped, your body - through its healing process, may now be doing its job properly. As you have tried allergy tablets and this doesn't seem to be working, then I doubt that this is the case.
It may be worth you making an appointment with your GP and see what he/she says.
Let us know how you get on won't you?
You've done brilliantly to reach 6 months, what was your reason for wanting to stop smoking?
Hi emjay

Good Morning Gaughanlfc2012,
I'm not sure I was that clear in my last post, but just in case, please don't think I was recommending that you go out and get yourself any nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) nasal spray now I was just asking in case you were still using it, as this may have been what was irritating you.
You've done really well in staying quit for this long, especially going cold turkey. So just try and stay positive
I've also now updated our Wall of Winners
Hi, welcome to the site.
All I can say to you is that a lot of symptoms showed up with me when I quit.
Runny nose, headaches, and breathing got worse.
The runny nose thing is a pest and my doctor gave me Flixonase which has helped.
But everyone is different and you should go to your doctor for help.
Well done in stopping for six months. Keep going as they say on certain ads on telly " your worth it ". Tom.
