Hi gang. Still missing the cigarettes but it seems more of an emotional attachment now rather than physical. I have a quick question, is it normal to get dry lips? Mine are quite sore at the mo.

Hi Cheeseman, First of all well done on achieving your first week of quitting.

Yes dry lips and mouth are common symptoms when you first quit. Make sure you keep hydrated. It should get back to normal soon. If not just get checked out with the pharmacy or doctors.

I’m really amazed at how much water I’m needing/drinking.

Well done Ollie, 1 smoke free week under your belt. As jillygirl and Briarwood have mentioned dry lips and thirst are part of the game. Try to cope with it as it will soon pass.

Hi Ollie, drinking too much water is never a bad thing, if you drink a glass of water before dinner, it may stop you from overeating and gaining weight..... just a thought?

Congratulations on your first week smoke🚭free. 😀

Ollie, well done on your first week of being smoke free :)

Dry lips and mouth seem to be a fairly common symptom. Keep a lip salve with you all the time to keep your lips moist and make sure you drink plenty of water too :)

Have a great smoke- free weekend.
