Hello there, firstly congratulations on stopping smoking. I have asked one of our specialist stop smoking advisers and she has passed on the following advice which many people have found helpful:

"Try to reduce the number of sprays that you spray over a period of 6 weeks.

If you can find a similar-tasting minty mouthwash (or mouth refresher spray) then try and substitute the Nicorette spray for that. This will help you gradually wean yourself off the dependency over a period of weeks. Nicotine is addictive so to avoid going through withdrawal it is recommended to reduce the number of sprays you do over this 6 week period to avoid a sudden change. You are looking for a steady reduction."

I hope this helps - please let us know how you are getting on.

If you stopped smoking through a stop smoking service (such as Quit4Life) you could always give them a call for advice as well, or the pharmacy where you buy your sprays from.

Wishing you all the best, Anna @ Quit4Life
