I would like to hear from all people who are dizzy. I am so dizzy that I spend the day in bed because I feel okay when I am lying down.

Hi Lynda - my dad was really dizzy like you - and it was constant. Some of the medication can make it worse like Sinemet but we really had to work through it. We tried prism glasses and they helped for a time. I know that I am not all that helpful but wanted you to know that you are not the only one. Have you been to a nuero-opthamaolgist? I would suggest seeing one - they deal with more of the nuerological aspects of the eyes and may be able to help - -sounds like the nerves in your eyes are very busy.

Hi Lynda, This was the first symptom that Chris, my husband complained of. No good news from us I'm afraid. It stayed with him all the time and no medications seemed to work. i do hope that you find something to ease it. Thinking of you.

Hi Lynda,

This was also a very early symptom with Jeff as well. At first we thought it was an inner ear issues because he flew so much and then we thought it might be vertigo so he was treated for both to no avail. I think its the eye sight going more than anything. Jeff tried the prism glasses but that didn't help either. Oh my, aren't I all positive and helpful today???? :)

Sorry I don't have a solution but it is part of the myriad of issues PSP sufferers deal with.

yes I get dizzy quite a bit. The angle of my head is a factor. If I keep my chin up and look straight ahead it helps.

Hi Linda,

I feel just like you all the time now, have been feeling like this for 6 years and now its really bad.

nothing seems to help: medicines, prismas, etc.. it starts as soon as i wake up, more strong now. i think staying in bed is actually worse for me. If i didnt have this I would still be okay.

Good luck

Prior to my wife's diagnosis of PSP in April, 2011 she experienced increasingly more troubling dizzy spells and double vision for about a year - normally when walking. She seemed to be OK when seated. Now, when watching TV she wears glasses that have one eye "masked" over to help her reduce double vision. Her dizziness has increased over the past 18 months; it now severly limits her mobility. Even with my assistance or when using her walker (non-wheeled) she is very unsteady. In her case, the diziness seems to almost be a measure of the progress of her condition. Her neurologists and neuro-optomologist don't have any suggestions for medications that will reduce the dizziness. We have tried to remain positive and enjoy each day but her limited mbility is beginning to shrink our world and reduce outside activities.

Stay strong, Dennis
