Yes, leaning/slouching to one side is a common issue in PSP (and CBD I think). Look up previous posts on "Leaning" for different experiences and helpful suggestions. 🌻

Yes, my wife has been leaning to her left side since she was diagnosed with PSP five years ago.

Yes, my husband has leant to the right for years, not every day though and on rare occasions it is toward the left!

The OT is getting a tilting shower chair with side supports. His rise and recliner has movable cushions that can be placed at the sides to support him.

Hi Brandysuki

My husband used to lean to the left and it was one of the first symptoms I noticed, but as time went on this changed and he would always lean to the right. His neurologist advised part of PSP and we used cushions to support him and the physio gave exercises to encourage him move to the opposite direction.

Best wishes x

Hi there

Yes, leaning to one side is very common, and a number of people at our support group show the same symptom. Cushions are helpful.

Hello, yes my Dad also leans to one side. Sometimes left and sometimes right. We used the Ross Return to transfer him from his chair to the commode then use the Ross return to then transfer him onto the toliet. Then the same process in reverse same back to chair. Because his lean and stiffness worsened we now use a hoist onto the commode then hoist into bed to change his pads now. He has a bucket chair that has side supports to prevent him from leaning and slipping out of the chair. The 2x carers come 4 times a day to assist Dad. The OT had to come and assess his height and weight to order the right size chair. All the best
