Living with PSP

Hello I’m new to this site. My husband was diagnosed with PSP in February 2019. He was initially diagnosed a year earlier with Parkinson’s disease but unfortunately as things progressed we had the dreadful PSP diagnosis. He’s at the stage now where he can just about stand with help, can no longer walk and his speech has also really deteriorated. I was reading up about cbd oil and how it can help some people with PSP. Any advice or comments about this would be really appreciated as I now feel we have nothing to lose and possibly some sort of relief or help for my husband by trying it.

Many thanks for your support

Welcome to the site, although I”m sure you would not wish to need to be here!

My late husband was dx with Parkinson’s for 9 yrs before the PSP dx came, then passed away a year later. That was 3 yrs ago.

I cannot give any insight as to weather CBD oil would help but I certainly think it would be worth trying. My husband was still able to walk with help right up until his death but falling was a major issue. Plus much breathing difficulty.

It didn’t seem to help my husband at all, but it is certainly worth trying as everyone’s journey through this disease seems to be so different.

My wife has been diagnosed with PSP in 2014. She is on wheel chair and cannot move even few steps. Of late sheis having difficulty in speaking. On the suggestion of a doctor friend of mine, I have given CBD oil to her, two drops morning and evening for the last three months. I do not find any change in her condition

My husband also tried CBD oil but not really helpful....he declines rapidly these days.

But still, you can try to see if it helps....everyone is different.
