Peg
It's never easy to see loved ones like this. Hopefully all will go well with the PEG placement.

It’s heartbreaking and I know what you’re going through, my husband had a peg fitted last March, he had lost over 5 stone in weight and looked very gaunt, he wouldn’t talk or be interested in anything, but after a few weeks and gradually building up the feed he started to take more interest in his surroundings and he can be quite communicative some days, he’s got a nice complexion again and is a healthy weight, I am so much less stressed now, I find it easier to put the feed on at teatime and let it run overnight to stop about 8/9am, then you’re free from the clutter if you’re going out, it’s worth talking to the salt team about giving small amounts of water or juice, purely for the pleasure it gives, but the choking needs monitoring
I hope it goes well, you’re mum could be back home in a few days keep in touch

Thanks Janet hopefully will be a positive outcome x
Hi Teddies, hope all goes well for your mum, so many have had a positive experience for it. I sometimes wonder if W had had the peg would his quality of life have been better. But he didn't want it so I respected his wishes and as it turned out when his swallow was practically gone his consultant said he wasn't suitable for it. So at least that was some pressure less for me to bear.
Lots of love Nanny857xx Ps
