Hello all has anyone been granted PIP benefit then at review had it stopped please
PIP: Hello all has anyone been granted PIP... - PSP Association
PIP
my husband gets PIP has not had it reviewed in the 3 years we’ve had it, I can’t see how they could stop it, not like things will get better. Xxxx
Hi N'star
The first thing to do is to appeal. The first level appeal is done in-house by a manager.
If they don't give the benefit do a further appeal which is held by an independent tribunal.
The independent tribunal more often than not overturns decisions in favour of the claimant.
The key argument of the appeal is that PSP and CBD are degenerative conditions so ones condition only worsens, never improves.
Doing a web search for Appealing PIP will bring up simple guides of how to do this. It is very straight forward.
(I used to support people for PIP appeals - So I know very well how easy they are). The Tribunal is a relaxed affair, but do be aware they will often be watching you making your way in and sometimes even getting out of your car... They are quite sussed!
Essentially you merely put your case before the appeal manager and if you loose that the Tribunal with a simple "Things have become worse." You could check their scoring and see which scores are wrong if you like.
Yes, damned roller coaster.
Good luck
Kevin
Thank you Kevin my husband has standard rate care and high rate mobility. I was considering a request to re assess but am fearful of it being stopped
Hi Northstar
They would be on a looser if they tried to stop it. It is a degenerative disease with no respite periods. Even if they did try to downgrade it you would get it back with back monies after an appeal.
Try this self test. You will then see if you are likely to get an increase.

It seems to be straightforward. I have not done it, but hopefully it will convert the scoring to a result of the different levels.
Best to you
