Hi everybody, mum with PSP is having troub... - PSP Association
Hi everybody, mum with PSP is having trouble useing rotunda due to her stiff arms , any medication ideas? Thankyou
Hi, seems to be quiet on here today so I will answer you although stiffness rigidity hasn't started yet with my hubby. I have seen people mention Baclofen which I believe is a muscle relaxant. I know there are lots of posts about this. Maybe do a search on psp for rigidity, stiffness etc. Hopefully soon someone else will come on forum with suggestions.
Agreeing with Daffodil
But adding... get a physio from a neurology team if you haven't already had that service. just ask the GP to make a referral.
Exercise and movement helps a lot with PSP/CBD. My wife has regained function and pushed back stiffness just with this alone.
Hope this helps.
Best
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, I will show W your reply as his back is getting stiff and this might encourage him to move a bit more.
Thankyou all, have spoken to hospice and they are sending a physio out to show us the correct exercises to do which may help. Baclofen is no good as it will effect muscles we don’t want it to effect e.g . Swollowing. Xx
no medications , what the DR said is not true. SORRY
Hi. Kay, I been having upper body massage and it has really helped. Took a few sessions to release the tension but am able to stretch left arm in line with physio exercises, could hardly move for ache before and neck stiffness much improved.
