Hi, Vince. You are in the Australian Perth? Sorry I don't have any info about medication for CBD. My guy had PSP and we tried many things. I think for these diseases various symptoms may be treatable while the overall disease isn't, yet. Research is going on all over. There is hope.

Anyway, sorry for your diagnosis, but welcome to the site. It's a great community here.

Best, Sarah

The best advise I have had is 'EXERCISE' as much as you can....... while you can.

Good luck and sadly welcome to the club.

Patrick.

Hi Vince. My husband has CBD and was told there is no medication to help although through this site, I believe I've read where some have tried meds to treat symptoms. I'm sure they will chime in.

Sorry for your diagnosis but welcome to this great site.

Hello Vince and Welcome!

...Although so sorry you have to join this group. My husband has had CBD for about 5 years (we think). Unfortunately there is no medication for CBD itself, although meds ease some symptoms, e.g. Ssri for depression or anxiety, meds for stiffness, bladder relaxants for hyper-urgency at night, and botox for certain types of rigidity. That's just some of it. There has also been a robust discussion here recently on cbd oil (cannabidinol).

There have been many discussions of medications in historical posts. Use the search window on the upper right of the screen, or type an inquiry into Google and add Health Unlocked to it.

One of our recent strings is titled Australians....Oz members looking each other up :-)

There is also a widely held belief (including by me) that physical exercise delays the worst symptoms.

Personally I find a divide in the cbd patient pipulation between those with cognitive decline and those wirhout. It isnt universal.

Also, the life expectancy seems longer than I used to read about.

I hope you are doing well?

Anne G.

My Mum has CBD. As others have replied there is no specific medications for the disease. Just medications to help relieve symptoms. Though you may have to try a few to find one that suits you as every patient is different.

Exercise really does make a difference both physical and mental. Keep doing as much as you can for as long as you are capable. There will come times that you will have to push yourself to do it. You know your own body.

This site will be of a great help and support

Hi Vince l would start with coconut oil in cooking and take in coffee, tea, warm milk or any warm drink .one tablespoon taken daily, most brain disorder can not be cured, but the symptoms could be managed.we are from NZ and my wife has psp disorder ,she had this from 2014 i think you have to read and do research in cbd.we both take coconut oil it help me manage the stress with looking after her , good luck Peter and Kathy

My husband also has CBD. He takes carbadopa , gabapentin, lexapro and a large assortment f vitamins. These meds help with symptoms but doesn't stop the progression. Physical and occupational therapy are big helps. Sorry you have this. Best wishes to you. Kat
