Thank you for the advise I will make sure he dose that, we still have the ct scan next week so I’m theres nothing serious. If it’s the psp we can deal with that.
Check meds for side effect of swelling - selegiline does it. We got rid of that and then massaged his feet every day and the swelling went away and didn't come back.
I agree with Satt2015: Ideally feet should be raised above the heart, stack some pillows under the feet in bed at night, in the daytime raise as high as comfortably possible. Drinking as much good o’d plain water as can be taken. I remember seeing a film where a person going across a desert had swollen legs and ankles from dehydration!
Hi, my hubby also has very swollen feet and ankles. he's taking diuretics for his heart but that doesn't seem to make any difference. He refuses to sleep with his legs raised and I often find him in his chair in the morning as he is having problems sleeping. Sometimes he puts them up on the bed but that doesn't really help. And as for drinking I have to almost force him to have a drink in the afternoon, I don't ask any more, just put it in front of him and "nag" until he drinks it !
sorry, not really advice but feeling a bit fed up at the moment.
I am going to correct my earlier reply. It's selegiline, which is often prescribed for PSP, that may cause swelling in the feet. I keep saying sertraline, but it was the selegiline that caused my sweetheart's problems.
