coconut oil and turmeric

I came across this post in this facebook forum ( today:

Hello everybody, I'm so glad my daughter fond this group. My husband was diagnosed with PD Atwood years ago, just in January this year the new neurologist through an MRI discover it was PSP. I almost died when he called me and explain everything about to me. I don't know if some of you believe God or not, but I have to tell you if I don't have His strength, wisdom and comfort everyday I'm not able to continue this difficult path.

I want to share a couple things, Jerry is living right now in a sustanaible line, he has more than three weeks with no falls, it's a huge record. What are we doing? In Monday's we are having balance class for one hour, tuesday and thursday We have exercise class special for PD. Wednesday or Friday Physical therapy. He is always tired, maybe is difficult for him to do this but is the reason to go out, and keep moving. I can't see the illness is eating him, we are fighting. jerry is a big guy h is 6.3 I'm a little Colombian woman, he told me that always. Then I decided to start a low carbs diet. We increased th consumption of fruits and vegetables. But the most amazing think y highly recommend is COCONUT OIL. He watched a video in YouTube, many neurologist speaking about the coconut benefits for people with brain problems, I didn't pay too much attention, but it was in my mind. the Chiropractor was helping Jerry with balance and pain in his shoulders, neck, low back. He was speaking about Turmeric, well I found a tea with coconut oil and turmeric. I decided to started o drink it every single night: Recipe:

2 cups of coconut milk

1 table spoon coconut oil

1/2 table spoon turmeric

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 tea spoon ginger or 1 inches of gonger root

1 Table spoon honey when you will drink.

Put it everything in a pot and mix very well. Place it over low heat, cook for 5 minutes, add the honey at the end. Dink one hour before bed.

Jerry told me is working with his constipation, he is having a good sleep time. I don't know if is working with his falls but, I told you he has at least three weeks with no falls. I put coconut oil in the morning sometimes with his smoothie, mix of fruits and veggies.

I hope i can contribute with a little piece of sand in the middle of this big desert.

Thanks for sharing Sammy, I'm not convinced, personally, of such remedies, just call me a cynic! But I'll be very happy if this does help others!! X

I am not so much the cynic as Satt...though she and I share much the same I am going to tell you to keep on and let us know how long and to what degree you see the changes....I know one thing, all of that excercise is good for both of you. And the recipe is not toxic even if it is nothing more than a tea to sooth the emotions , then go for it....and I am glad you know that the Lord is there to lean on and get you through this....

Many blessing to you and your husband

And remember Sammy:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us. I Corinthians 2:12

(God) who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. IICorinthians1:4

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13

For God has not given us the spirit of fear ; but of power, and of love, and a sound mind . IITimothy 1:7
