Poor Dc got himself out of bed in hospital and went crashing to the floor. He now has a brilliant "egg" on his head and a smashing bruise. Still waiting for the care package to be set up. I was told because he needs so much care it can take a long time.
Hope things have been reasonable for you all today.

Oh dear! That's familiar! My guy landed on his forehead pitching himself out of bed last Friday morning. It was a nightmare getting him up. I bent the hoist and tipped it over with him in it and we all were wedged between the bed and the dresser. Everything and everyone ended up rather dinged. He said his head didn't hurt, although the egg was frightful. I iced it, left him to his aide and went to work. At noon the swelling seemed a little less, but by nightfall one eye was scarlet and swollen shut. Then the bruising appeared and slid down and around to both eyes. Two awful shiners! It was late Sunday before the worse eye opened. Five days later and he looks like he was badly beaten, yellow and black and blue from (what used to be) his hairline to his jaw. It's so awful and pathetic. No one looking at him would think he was being properly cared for, poor soul.
He didn't really seem to take much harm, other than the look of it. Time for the hospital bed, I guess. He will hate that, but the rail I bought to go with the regular bed won't hold him.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I am sympathizing with you, Tillyhugs.
No we are still waiting the ward manager is going to speak to the social services today. I guess because we need so many carers that is the delay. Fingers crossed they sort it soon otherwise I will be bringing him home myself.
Sorry to hear this. Know the feeling I had a few of those with my mom and dad. The last one was new years eve 18 stiches in his eyebrow horrible. Wishing him well and short wait for the care package.
