Hi 1941mary - You could try night time Kalms initially. Nitrazepam is good if your gp will prescribe it. Different ones suit different people. Hope you find some that will help your Mum sleep. Look on line for help with sleeping - Jingles243

I find that Nytol works for me. If you take half a pill it works within half/three quarters of an hour. Worth a try!

Hi mary. Speak to your GP. My only worry with my hubby taking sleeping pills would be the effect on him the next day. But as everyone is different you need advice from a professional as well as getting your own info. Good luck.

Hallo, Mary,

If your Mum has a neurologist, I would speak to him/her. Some people with PSP have very impaired sleep - it is a symptom that my Mum experienced for many years. Unfortunately, we did not find a sleeping pill that overcame this problem.

I do feel for your Mum because I know just how awful it can be. When you are extremely tired your mobility and even your thinking is more difficult - so it just makes everything worse!

PSP brings a wide variation of symptoms. When I first joined this site, I was astonished to read about PSP sufferers who sleep all the time, because my Mum had a profound inability to sleep.

I hope you are able to help your Mum and she gets some rest soon.

Amanda.

Thank you so much Amanda for your reply ... your support means so much . Yes I will speak to mums neurologist and see what he says. As you say her mobility is so imuch worse as she just can't seem to catch her sleep.

We have tried homeopathic remedies but no luck!

I will keep trying other methods also . Thank you Amanda and much love to you xx
