You said it Tony! I think it must be one of the worst out there! Who ever invented it, must have been having a real bad hair day!

Hope you wife is OK, after wrecking your wall.

Is this your first post? don't recognise the name. Welcome if it is, glad you have found us. The site is amazing, really don't know how I would have got this far, without the support and love from everyone on here.

Lots of love

Yes, it is a cruel disease Tony. I looked back on a previous post you sent. Did you manage to get and Elk or Camel to help you get your wife up? If she is still mobile and falling, you need something before you injure yourself. The other thing that can help is getting a baby monitor so you can see her when you leave the room and pressure pads that go off when she starts getting out of her chair, bed. The OT can get those for you. I saved many falls seeing my husband in the monitor and running to him when I saw he was on the move. He did manage to take the batteries out of the pressure pad so it wasn't much good. I know it's probably a strange thing to say but she is doing well to still be walking after 5 years. My darling was immobile by then.

Take care.

If after 9 months your wife has doubled , even tripled her falling events...time for her to get a wheelchair.....She is not going to get better but the falls are going to get worse...as is evident by the wall she just put herself through! When B was able to walk but quite able to fall (as is evident of holes in walls and broken furniture) I finally held on to him everywhere he went . I helped him down when he was sitting and helped him up after....I know you are no stranger to this form of assistance but like someone said 5 years is a long time to still be on your feet! So congratulations for that! But now, you might have to take the bull by the horns, before someone falls on them!

Goodluck

Such s wicked disease and as NannaB said, whoever invented this one must have been in a very bad mood. I hope your wife is OK after her argument with the wall it is so difficult to try to keep your eye on them every second to try to keep them safe.

Take care

My husband did the same. Handyman has just patched the hole for now. Bless you.

Hi Tony' yes what a terrible disease PSP is, so hard but all you can do is take one day at a time or you will drive yourself crazy. I have mentioned this comment several times but with all the falls associated with PSP the best is to get your wife a helmet it protects their head so there is no trauma to her head. Take care.
