I've just received notice that I have to put in an application to transfer my DLA to the new PIP. Nothing is guaranteed said the guy from DWP so it's like starting from scratch.
Have any of you fellow suffers already gone down this route? Please tell of your experiences.

We went down this route last year, they said the same to us no guarantee but we filled in the forms and everything went through with no problems in fact as hubby had deteriorated we ended up with the higher rate PIP and they carry on paying the DLA until it's sorted. Hope this helps.
Hi got the letter on Christmass Eve ((nice Christmass present), deadline to claim first week in Jan. No phone service to DWP until 29/12, guy seemed OK and took details said to wait for claim pack. Nothing so far but DLA still paid so hope all progressing behind scenes but CAB told me if nothing heard by end of this week to rattle DWP cage again.
Main thing is to make sure you follow instructions in the letter and contact them before date they give you or you will lose the DLA and to have to start new claim for PIP will take 6 months plus during which no cash. I suggest you contact CAB or Council Social Services if you want help.
Hi Yvonne until 2013 anybody under 65 could apply for Disability Living Allowance DLA, if over 65 you could apply for Attendance Allowance. After 2013 DLA replaced by PIP (personal independence Plans) and since last April15 those on DLA but under 65 as of 2011 are being moved to PIP at fairly short notice, level of PIP determined by different level of requirements than DLA. So money can be altered or even stopped.
Notice letter gives a date for applying for PIP transfer sent to DLA claimants gives a phone number to apply if you do not take action your DLA payments stop on the date given in the letter. Note if you lose your DLA and not replaced by PIP your Carers Allowance also stops.
Attendance Allowance not affected by changes in 2013.
Hope that is clear as mud, but basically you must respond to the letter if you get one.
