Has anyone got experience with Botox for excessive salivation? It has been a suggestion as other things don't work well

Hi, have you tried atropine eye drops under the tongue? I know it sounds strange but it does work - my husband had excessive drooling for a few years and tried most things without much effect but in the last 2 years using the drops his drooling is very rare. He had botox injections around his eyes for two years but found that it became less effective with each treatment so stopped 6 months ago. The saliva is produced in the mouth, and atropine seems to stop so much being produced. I dont know if botox would be of much use in this circumstance. All the best, Ann
HELLO Ann,s suggestion is what we use, one must be careful with botox if swallowing is already a problem,Rollie
my mum was given botox injections directly into her rigid arm muscles to help relax the arm - it only helped a little initially and didnt really give her any relief. We did it three times but after that, with no major gain and the serious commotion of trying to get her into the hospital for the injections we decided it just wasnt worth the whole day it took and the discomfort for her.
I have Botox injections at the Mohammed Ali Movement Disorder Clinic in Phoenix. Also take Amantadine. No more drooling, for now.
