Dear Joanne,

Of help to my husband - of most benefit to feet - more than than hands and ears on most occasions, however does (did) change at times (?) - recalled reading about a study undertaken in aged care settings in Norway 20 plus years ago with benefits established. I've never really understood why it isn't practiced more - given its around improving the circulation, and reducing stress and free to give and receive - which we all could do with. I presume it is because it is so subjective and a bit wacky (?), takes a bit of time to learn and understand and is not pharmaceutical...and not scientifically gauged...

I dont know much about reflexology but I do give J feet and hand massages and also facials and head massages. I always thought it could help with her poor circulation and just relax her. She always says "Bliss" after ive done them and appears more relaxed so I am sure reflexology could help a lot of people.

Tony had one session of Reiki (no-one else at the Parkinson's group we went to wanted to try it) and, sceptic though he was, relaxed completely, stopped tremor when the hands were over his shoulders. Unfortunately I could never get him to have another go! Used to massage his feet though, which he enjoyed.
