Life after RP and RT

Hi

pt3a, 0/17 Gs 3 + 4, RP 04/2019 , PSA 0.32 6/2019, 0.34 7/2019, 0.52 8/2019

Made PSMA without signs of disease.

two years have passed since my radiotherapy, start 10/2019. I was on hormone therapy for 6 months, the last one I received on 11/2019.

First PSA after RT 0.024, then undetectable.

I am happy with the current condition, but my oncologist always tells me that the disease can come back even after 10 years.

What are your thoughts?

I think everyone should enjoy life and not think too much about what it will be.

You seem to be in a very good and safe place - however, in that situation I would continue having PSA measured regularly for the rest of my life to stay on top of things if they should start developing.

You had pretty frequent PSA tests, was this on your own or through your Onc? Also, the ultra-sensitive PSA... Same question? The third digit does not provide much diagnostic help.

Your question as to asking for thoughts but then stating that everyone should not think too much about what might be... Sounds like you have some conflictions!

You are right, to just let it go, pay attention when necessary, but in the interim, live life and enjoy all those things that bring a smile to your face! Worry about any test result when it is necessary to do so, because worrying in the "in-between" is a common anxiety all cancer patients share, but should be recognized and knowing pushed aside.

Your PSA wasn't overly rapid DT and you leave out your post RP Pathology that would identify if any adverse features were present. So you received salvage therapy and have shown very good results, being 0.02ng! A nice aged Rib-Eye would be on my dinner plate to celebrate that! And I do that... Lol

Keep vigilant and watch but don't engross yourself with these tests, all my opinion of course ;) Enjoy!

Best Regards

There IS life after Prostate Cancer...live it ! At the same time, have your PSA taken every three months. Stay on top of it, but don't let it stop you from living, and thanking God for your doing well.
