MaleCare Members,

I received the email below and participated in the study. It includes a 15 min Zoom interview with Tom Gaither (who, btw, is HOT), a UCLA urologist and a questionnaire that takes about 10 mins to complete. The study is interested in learning about experiences, feelings - emotional and physical - of gay men who have/had PCa and like anal sex; bottoming. While the questions are personal, Tom handles the interview well and is quite comfortable to talk with. The link to the study and to Tom appear in the recruitment notice below.

Hi there-

Bottoming science update! See the attached slides for more information on the findings from our research studies on bottoming. Thank you for contributing!

My team is doing another research study, and I'm hoping YOU can help us out! We are looking for participants to complete a research interview with me and to fill out a survey (~20-25 minutes). All participants will receive a $25 dollar amazon gift card for your time.

To be eligible you must:

1. Have attempted or engaged in receptive anal intercourse within the past 6 months

AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

a. Have an issue with receptive anal intercourse (i.e. pain, bleeding, no pleasure, need substances to relax, etc)

OR

b. Have a history of a urologic (prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, pelvic floor dysfunction, etc) or colorectal (hemorrhoids, fissure, anal cancer, rectal cancer, etc.) issue.

If you are not sure you are eligible but want to participate, please just email me and we can discuss. If you know someone who may be eligible, please have them reach out to me via email (ucla.analsexstudy@gmail.com or tgaither@mednet.ucla.edu). If you are eligible, I'll email you a consent form to sign and coordinate a time for us to speak.

Big thanks!

Tom
