Does anyone have insight into the prostate cancer program at the Norris-Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock? I moved to Southern Vermont two years ago but have continued to see my oncologist at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn in Philadelphia. I’ve felt good about her treatment and care of my cancer. However, now with Covid 19 afoot, I’m dreading the eight hour drives and motel stays involved in heading down there for treatment. Dartmouth Hitchcock is only an hour away and Norris Cotton has a satellite facility in Keene, NH, which is 20 minutes away. Just wondering if I should look for a closer oncologist. Any insights would be helpful.

Hi JLISCHEID,

I know little about either of the places that you mention...However, looking on the website at Norris Cotton, the oncology department, etc. seems like it is a high quality hospital...

I am not sure whether or not your concern is about being in this section of the Northeast. I find the doctors in upstate NY in a relatively small populated area (Glens Falls, NY,) to be of very good quality. 15 years ago I had treatment (8 wks of radiation for PCa) here at the local hospital...

Driving 8 hours would be somewhat difficult for me...I agree, especially with Covid-19...

The best,

Billy
