I see that a lot of members here are taking Avodart to reduce DHT level (5-alpha-reductase inhibitor) and since it is hard to get this medication without a prescription, I searched for herbal replacement such as:
1) Pumpkin Seed
2) Saw Palmetto
3) Green Tea
4) Giant Dodder
5) Reishi mushroom
6) Fatty acids: The relative inhibitory potencies of unsaturated fatty acids are, in decreasing order: Gamma-Linolenic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, linoleic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, and myristoleic acid. Medium-chain fatty acids such as those found in coconut and the kernel of many palm fruits have also been found to inhibit 5α-reductase.
7) Chinese knotweed
8) Black Pepper leaf extract
Anyone is taking the above herbs?
Any other herb to add?

I take Saw Palmetto with Avodart, but my DHT stays the same. As a percentage of the total T it goes down because the latter keeps climbing up. Total T was 840 10 months ago smoothly climbing to 1140 last month.
So Avodart will prevent the conversion of Testesteron to DHT and the result will be high accumulated Testesteron but the cancer cells use DHT which will be low, so the cancer cells will not be able to grow?
This is great because it will improve the quality of life?
I do not have any QoL problems. I am post-RP monitoring my PSA to be ready for early sRT. Have not taken any ADT, only statines for familial Hypercholesterolemia, Avodart to keep DHT at the mid of the normal range and a long list of supplements for their placebo effect.
