Just updating, I've still got incontinence 13 months after TURP. Slowed down a little but still there. Still get painful spasms.

Anyone with a suggestion? Kegels aren't cutting it.

Are you taking something for the bladder spasms? Many guys I've talked to are very pleased with their artificial urinary sphincter.

I am suffering from total incontinence for the last three years since a TURP.

Is there any risk in involved in the AUS implant. Should it be done by a very experienced urologist or any urologist can do this surgery ? Because of this worry I never tried for it. Please give me your opinion.

I always prefer the most experienced doctor I can find. With any surgery, it helps the surgeon to have already run into every unusual situation. There is a lot of anatomical variation among patients. Maybe start a new thread to ask for recommendations where you live.

No, I stopped taking all medications. They weren't working anyways. Not sure I'm up for yet another surgery, since they started the problems.

Hi same as you I had 2 TURP and was all ok then developed cystitis 18 months later they removed bladder stones that was infected, after that I need 3 pads a day until I had urodynamics test ready for a AUS then for some reason I went down to 1 pad daly and have increased my pelvic floor exercise and have put off a AUS. Good luck

Have your doctor prescribe imipramine. This is a drug that strengthens the sphincter . It worked for me and might be worth a try.

That is a clever off-label use. Your doctor is a good lateral thinker.

Maybe, it has been used for bedwetting in children for decades.
