Muscle or Bone Pain

Has anyone else experiences rather sever muscle or bone pain while undergoing prostate EBRT? Every other day or so my wrist or ankle or something hurts enough to require OTC Meds or Codeine.

How could radiation on your prostate affect your wrist?

I assume you're also on ADT -- testosterone suppressing medicine? I had 40 rounds of external beam radiation but am also on two years of ADT and experience pain in practically any joint that ever hurt before. It's as if the medicine seeks out any point of vulnerability. It's not constant, but these pains flare up from time to time in my shoulder, lower back, and hip. It's also causes swelling and pain in my hands and wrists, which never hurt before. My PSA dropped to 0.1 with this therapy, so it's apparently not metastasis. It's just a tough regimen. (I am 65.)

Also, I had a negative bone scan, so I attribute the pain to ADT.

interesting for me - I am on ADT Luron for 30 and just recently I have started to get bone/joint and muscle pain. I was scared that the cancer was growing / metastasizing. Turns out from reading, checking with the Dr and talking with fellow PC - it IS a side effect. OTC seems to give relief - also cannabis. My Oncologist said that as long as I do not have a rising PSA which would indicate the Lupron is no longer effective, they are calling it side effects - age - I am 71.
