Two year anniversary since being first diagnosed with prostate cancer. It has been a great year of active surveillance and no biopsies! Hoping for many more like this.

Congratulations! I have been on Active Surveillance since December 2006 with a Gleason 6 PcA

Excellent news. I made it 2 years active surveillance. Continue to keep on top of your health with your urologist's guidance! Cheers

Bomox,

I just started active surveillance after being diagnosed with PCa in April. I will be testing my PSA in a couple weeks. My Gleason was 7. However my biopsy remains were sent to prolaris for genetic testing (prolaris.com/) My results came back in non aggressive range.

I am anxious and hopeful that my PSA has stabilized. Initial reading at diagnose was 5.83.

Your results are similar to mine except my Gleason is 6. Not sure if I would take the same course of action if my Gleason was higher. But due to my age, 56, I think putting off any treatment until necessary is the correct course of action for me.

Praying all continues well for you.

Thanks Bomox,

I would have not elected for "watch and wait" either, but the genetic testing gave me some hope I made the right decision. Also I am older than you, age 76, my age was also a determining factor in my decision.
