Is urinating blood normal?

My husband has stage 4 D1 prostate cancer. He has urinated almost put blood 3 times and almost always has some blood in urine. Concerned about the times it's almost pure blood. Doc says not to worry. It could be from his radiation treatments 4 years ago. Old doc wanted him to have his bladder checked for cancer. It never happened. I have heard that its normal to have some blood in urine. Anyone know if normal to have almost pure blood? He has no infections or burning. Pure blood happened today and few times in last month. Input from any one who has experienced this issue would be much appreciated.

It’s not normal. We took many trips to ER & said they couldn’t find anything wrong. 2 years later cancer was found in his kidney and removed. Please see an oncologist and get tests now
