Bleeding
You should get in contact with your midwife and she will tell what to do. It probably nothing but it is best to get it check out
Hannah, it is normal please try not to worry. I had a little bit of spotting at 4 weeks, I thought it was my period coming! When I found out I was pregnant a few days later I didn't think anything of it. Then I had some more at 6 weeks, heavier but still not really significant. It just felt like my body was trying to have a period. I am now 7 1/2 weeks and had a tiny amount the other day, I decided that if I have really have to inspect the tissue to see it then not worth worrying about it!
After reading everyone's experiences on here I have come to the conclusion that it is normal. If you experience pain and it gets heavy with clots then yes definitely go to the hospital or speak to the midwife.
It is also worth remembering that many women on here have heavy bleeds and are still pregnant afterwards. My sister-in-law had a heavy bleed in the early weeks and they were convinced she miscarried at the time but now she is a mum to a very happy, lively two year old.
Roll on the 12 week scan, time seems to be going so slowly! These early weeks are quite tough emotionally aren't they?

Hi Hannah, if it is only spotting try not to worry to much about it. I had pink spotting with my first pregnancy at 6 & 8 weeks, it was only spotting but I was that worried I had a early scan and everything was fine. Just take it easy but if the spotting turns into red heavy blood then contact your doctors. I know exactly how you feel and it is a very anxious time. Take care
I've not experienced it myself but I have read about implantation bleeds which can show as sporting, it can be a different colour to a period bleed, some women I think maybe have a breakthrough bleed which is when they don't discover they are pregnant for another month, this happened to a friend if mine. I have however experienced 2 MC's so def keep a close eye on, i don't want to worry you but this could be a warning sign. MC's vary so much between women so we will all have our own stories to tell, my first was over a 4 wk period and my 2nd over a week both times I was in considerable pain and discomfort and bleeding when I needed to wear pads.
If the bleeding gets heavier or you have pain associated with it contact your GP of self refer to the EPU at your local hospital. It's worthwhile finding out about their opening hours etc now so if you do need them you know when you can get help.
I wish you all the best & will keep my fingers crossed its nothing serious xx
Yeah definitely try not to worry.i keep bleeding every 2-3weeks.i've lost gush of blood in 3occasions then had spotting after.every time i go to my dr or hospital as i had a laparoscopy at 7weeks but lucky baby was ok and is ok now.bleeding on the beginning could be caused by implantation but of course if you worry go and see your gp.not sure how early they can do scan(mine was at 7weeks and hb was strong then).good luck snd hopefully its nothing to worry about xx
Sounds like spotting to me. I had this and it's scary - if it's light or brown then it's nothing to worry about but if it's thick or red then see someone quick. Either way probably best to nip and see your GP; tell them you're pregnant and bleeding and they can do a quick appt. Mine turned out to be absolutely fine, but I did worry!
