Slap cheek syndrome
I've never heard of this syndrome before. What are the symtoms exactly.
My nephew has had flu like symptons with a rash and upset stomach
Think most adults are immune it's a virus common in children if your worried check with your dr xx
Also have a look on NHS choices its got some info on it there xx
Just looked at the info...u should see your dr ur 22,wks so that's great but you would need to be monitored if you got it have you been in close contact in the past wk? ring your midwife too x
Keep away from him! Symptoms are obvious, and if you develop it you should be closely followed up. Parvovirus B19 is not something you want to be exposed to - even at 22 weeks - miscarriage risk is reduced but there is still a risk of hydrops faetalis (litterally translates to fluid filled baby). Risks are much reduced post 20 weeks but are still there. I was exposed at work at 10 weeks, which was a worrying time!
what happened to u dr fluffy? were u immune? x
Didn't contract it thankfully! I currently work with immune suppressed patients - one of whom had severe parvovirus, complete with total bone marrow suppression requiring ITU care.
The things I've been exposed to in my pregnancy really freaks my madwife out!!!
Thank you for getting back to me
