I am pregnant of about 8 weeks. This is my first one.I want to know in case of emergency where should I go or whom to contact?
Hi congratulations!! You can try call your midwife if you have any concerns. I don't have a direct number for a midwife that works during weekends so I ring the maternity/ gynea ward in my local hospital to discuss any concerns I have with them and they are great that was who the early pregnancy unit told me to call if I was worried about anything. So if it makes you feel at ease do some research for telephone numbers etc for your local hospital should the need arise. From what I've learnt they only need to see you of you are using more than a pad an hour or are in a lot of pain, but if you experience any spotting call them anyway and they should book you in for an early pregnancy scan within a number of days.
Anyway everything will be fine!!fingers crossed you never need to use it. Good luck in your pregnancy xxxx
Hi again!! Sorry I live up North I'm afraid I don't know. Try look up a number for a doctors that are local to you in the phone book etc and ask them, even if your not registered there they should give you the information you require, but I think the sooner you speak to the doctors or get registered the sooner they will get you sorted with a midwife. I hope you get sorted soon you know where I am if you need to talk xxx
