If you're going on your first scan that means 12weeks scan. It takes usually less than 90min- sometimes only 20min for scan and then check if you also having blood tests-if yes, they'll take blood sample on other place. It also depends if you also claimed screening test for Down's syndrome-they would do it during the scan, but then it takes much longer time(they take measurment of baby's neck)-it depens on baby position....and maybe you'll be surprised as me after first scan, that I've got 2babys in my bump! :-)

Have you had your booking in appointment with the midwife cos this is your first appointment and then she books in your 12wk scan. Also, you should have had a letter from the hospital confirming your scan date (if its been booked yet). Hope this helps! xx

Sounds like this appointment is just your first midwife appointment. Mine was around an hour as they ask questions and take a blood and urine sample. My scan was booked after this appointment which I have on thursday when I will be 13 weeks xx

hmm thats a tricky one you should phone up and ask for peace of mind. i know that midwife is usually at your local GP and scan is at the hospital. where have you to go for your appointmen? if you are 12 weeks you should get a scan date pretty quickly after this appointment if this isnt your scan as they normally scan before 14 weeks.

You never know with these babies, he/she may decide their ready to apear on the 16th! That would be lovely :) my son decided to come a whole 9 weeks early! They are so unpredictable, funny enough I was hoping to hang on until the 16th to as this is fathers day :)

My first appt and scan were together at 12 weeks. Didn't have a 'booking appt' to book scan. Enjoy it, lots of health related questions but you get to see your little one too! Xx
