Hi, I am about 6 weeks pregnant. For the last 10 days I have been severely constipated and NOTHING is helping me. Even though I have frequent loo runs, I still cannot seem to go. Tried milk ( I'm lactose intolerant) , fibre, hot water, fennel and nothing is working.
along with the above, make sure you are active, walking. and drinking a lot of water (more then you think!!) also have a stool by the loo and put your feet on it when you are sitting there, not straining but sitting with you knees higher than you hips, so you are as near to squatting as you can be (think hole in the ground being best place to poo!!!). HTH
Cabbage soup and lots of it....Ive been struggling with this too...my mum told me to eat as many vegtables as possible and lots of cabbage and its worked a treat so far. Still not the best but much better than it was - best of luck! its so uncomfortable so I hope this helps
Hi, I have it too although not quite as bad as you. At my midwife appointment last week she told me that I can take Senokot. She told me to make sure I was eating plenty of fruit and veg, and drinking plenty of water. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. You can always ring your midwife/GP and just check with them about the Senokot. Hope you get some relief soon
It's really common. Fruit and veg and plenty of water r a must. Fybogel might also help. It's a soluble drink to ease constipation and is safe whilst pregnant x
Good Morning Ladies. Thank you so much for your advice!! I tried having a variety of vegetables for dinner. Then a friend suggested Linseeds or Flaxseeds. I got a pack from Holland and Barratt, took a table spoon followed by a glass of water. 3 Hours later it worked!!! It's really high in Fibre and Omega 3 Those of you suffering the same, should give it a try. Thank you for all your help
It appears I need some linseeds... I am so uncomfy in the bum bum. I can go but it's really difficult and dry... plenty of veg & fruit. Linseeds here I come!
