I felt movement at about 21 weeks but was worried as some people said they felt them at like 16 weeks but everyone is different and my midwife said sometimes you may not feel anything till abit later also depends how ur baby is laying and where ur placenta is. xx

Yea that's what I've heard aswell, when you started to feel baby move, was it little flutters or quite strong?xx

in reply to

For me it was like little flutters or a gentle rolling sensation. People say it feels like a fish swimming slowly. For me it felt as if the baby was doing gentle somersaults. They usually become more frequent in response to food especially something sweet!

Hi there, most women start feeling the baby around 20-21 weeks of pregnancy. If it is not the first baby one may start feeling the baby earlier. Also as ceribean said it depends on the woman and her physiology. In addition to that overweight women tend to take longer to feel the baby as there is usually more fat around their tummy region.

I felt it around 16 weeks but def movements around 18 and regular movements after that remember that as ur uterus grows up over your pubis bone ur bowel sits behind so if u think its wind and bubbles its not its ur baby! X

Oh really!? Because I have felt a couple little flutters but just thought it was bubbles...

So exciting! Thanks everyone for the comments :) xx

Hiya, I was about 19weeks with my first, 16 weeks with my 2nd and 21 weeks with my 3rd. All different times. I started to panic with my 3rd as didn't feel till late but all pregnancies are different.

I think i first felt something at about 17 weeks; then day before my 20 week scan, I felt a positive poke but not a lot since then. I sometimes feel ripples or wriggling but no real kicks. I generally feel it more at night (I guess when I'm relaxed) or if I'm hunched forward slightly at work. It's like she's telling me to sit up and give her more room lol. I'm 23 weeks today. I'm not overweight (size 8 pre-pregnancy); it is my first so it's generally thought to be felt later for us first timers. If you have strong stomach muscles it's believed to be felt later too.

From 18 weeks, I had definite foetal movements. I had 'flutterings' that were probably bubba from about 16/40.

I didn't really notice any 'flutters' or anything, but put that down to having a reasonably active job (or the dog lying across my belly lol). I started getting 'real' kicks around 20-21 weeks - in fact it was just after the 20 week scan. I think he just wanted to let us know he was there :)

I was 24 weeks exactly !! Nothing before that, and it was funny cause i had my 24 midwife appointment that day and discussed the no movement thing then that night bang 3 big kicks in the belly I was so happy I cried !! I do have anterior placenta as well so that does cushion the feelings but 29 +1 weeks now and he's always on the go lol xx
