cream cheese.. soft cheese... whats the difference..??

really craving philadelphia soft cheese... but i know when your pregnant you can have cream cheese but not soft cheese... but on the tub philli says its soft cheese but people have told me that its cream cheese and fine to eat... buton the philli tub it says made with pasturised milk...

can i have philadelphia cheese..?

Cream cheese is a kind of soft cheese. Soft cheeses are fine if they're made from pasteurized milk and aren't moldy like stilton, otherwise not, whereas generally hard cheeses are fine even if they weren't made from pasteurized milk. Philly's made from pasteurized milk, so knock yourself out--it's a great source of calcium, and low in fat if you choose the light or no-fat version.
