hospital bag prep

hi all, as I'm getting near to my date for my scheduled section I need to start getting my bag ready, so far I have -nappies -wipe/cotton wool - grows and sleepsuit -welcome to world sign -blanket and teddy Is there any thing else for baby that needs to go in bag? I'm trying to be prepared for all scenarios unlike my last time I wasn't fully prepared

For myself I have nightware, towel, maternity pads, loose clothing, toiletries and charger blanket(comfort as my previous baby's so will be coming aswell)

Is there anything that I have missed? As I want to be fully prepared for all scenarios of labour this time

Thanks all

I would recommend wireless headphones, the ward can be noisy and there can be lots of waiting around. I listened to audio books and music. I also watched films etc on my on phone.I packed lots of drinks and snacks, they did regular meals at the hospital, but I had some snacks of my own too. After baby they left me with a jug of water, but not much good if you can't reach it, so I had a bottle of Lucazade that I kept next to me.

I also harvested colostrum for the last couple of weeks which I froze and took to the hospital. I had gestational diabetes so they recommend it in case baby has low blood sugar and they need a bit more food. I found out really useful as Dad was able to do bit of a top up while I had a shower. I had labels and syringes from my midwife and when I arrived at the hospital with my cool bag, they had a freezer they could store it and a little kitchen where you could defrost them.

I packed nipple balm to be ready for boobs being used again. First time I wished I had started with nipple care earlier! It's also a good lip balm for dry lips.

I took my slippers so I could have comfy feet and flip flops for going to the showers.

It was really hot on the ward, so something light to wear and layers in case you get cold.

Good luck with everything xx

For baby: hat and pramsuit to come home in; several small and large muslins for burping and swaddling.

For you: earplugs; knickers; nursing bras and nursing pads if BF; slippers; book/magazine; optional-charger pack for phone in case of no easy access to socket (I had this: amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B081VY... and relevant cables.

Good luck! Xx

thank you, although I didn't list it I do have pram suit hat and things there in a separate bag along with milk if I need as it will be staying in the car and my partner will get it once we know the baby is okay and healthy, I'm okay with the headphones as will be in a separate room due to my history

I prepared two bags, one with all the basics, and a second one with extra stuff (nappies, clothes, etc) just in case we stayed a bit longer. We left the second one in the car, that way it was less to carry around.
