Buggy board or seat

There's 17 months between my 2 children. When pregnant I bought a tandem travel system for them both. It came with a carrycot and 1 seat. Extra seats are currently on offer for £80 (reduced from £200). When my baby needs the seat is my toddler likely to still need a seat too? Or should I get a buggy board for the single travel system I used with my first?

I'll have the 2 children twice a week by myself, due to eldest being in nursery. He was 15.5 months when he started to walk but I'm not strong enough to carry him. Do I just accept I won't go on long walks these 2 days?

The huge price reduction has made me think I need to make a decision soon. Instead of waiting until my baby needs the seat and then assessing my toddkerscwalking ability.

Could I also have buggy board recommendations for an Oyster 3, ideally with a seat

hiya, congrats on your second baby. I’m in a similar boat - although there’s 2 years exactly between my two. My eldest is similar and started walking at 15 months and will still asked to be picked up and carried if he’s tired when in a walk.

Initially we had thought the same and assumed our son would be keen to walk / use the buggy board when we go on walks but I actually found it harder to manage one handed on the pram and one hand with the elder (who is more a flight risk tbh so also wouldn’t stay still on the buggy board) - so I’d say it depends on the temperament of your eldest also. If you plan to take them to the local park etc it might be worth the extra seat, particularly if your elder one may be worn out afterward. I found that the buggy boards with seats (lascal was the brand I was recommended..) were quite pricey so if there’s a good deal on the seat, might be worth it for you?

Also just to add, we have a sling from our first so once I’m recovered I plan to use that and have my elder in the pram which might be useful in the early days for you too.

Get the seat while it's on offer and if you don't end up using it much you can sell it on. We haven't ended up using our second seat much as I bought a buggy bag on Amazon to keep my wallet in and my eldest found she could sit on quite happily so I've hardly used the £180 seat in favour of a £10 bag from amazon 🤣

Sorry - when I said seat I meant 2nd seat for the tandem travel system. So when my baby is 6 months and out of the carry cot I'll have 2 seats on the travel system, if I buy a second seat

I'd go for the second seat. I've got 2 years between mine and the 3 year old still occasionally uses the seat, however he also loves sitting in the basket of the pushchair. We got our second seat on offer too, def worth it!
