Hi! Anyone requested a fit to fly certificate from a private provider to fly after 28 th weeks of pregnancy? My GP won't do one for me. Can you reccomend any provider?

Did your GP give you a reason why they wouldn't give you one? If they've not given you a specific reason why they won't, maybe ask to speak to the practice manager and ask to see another doctor or perhaps try your midwife.

Thanks yes I will try with the midwife. The doctor I spoke to said he could certify that it was a single non complicated pregnancy but it could not certify that I was fit to fly and that was the airline's decision (!!!) Which is strange because who better than my Gp knows about my health?

I think that's all they can provide, then the airline base their decision from that as to whether you can fly or not. I think the letter from your GP should be fine. Maybe double check with your airline what they require.

I flew at 28 and 29 weeks with BA. I was with a private consultant and he wrote the letter for me. However all BA required was confirming estimated delivery date and that there are no complications. I was never asked for the letter while I was traveling but it was good to have the peace of mind. I would think that what you describe from your GP is sufficient, at least by BA standards. Your airline should list what specifically they need on their website.
