Morning. I had to take these in my 3rd pregnancy as I felt constantly nauseous. I had them till around 14 weeks. X

I had these I didn’t want to take meds but the sickness got too bad. I dont think I ever had the full 3 it said I could in a day (because of my nervousness around taking them) just 1 or 2 and it did make a difference for me (didn’t stop it but brought it back to a more manageable normal level of nausea and sickness) I wish I had taken them sooner in hindsight but I thought it would get better on it’s own and it got worse! Baby all good and morning sickness went after about 21 weeks. Hope they work for you too 🤗💜 xx

Hi there, I took this in my first pregnancy with HG. I took them from 6 weeks. It did help a little. But it wasn’t a miracle worker. If you find it’s not helping enough after a couple of weeks please go back and see your Gp. I spent a lot of time extremely dehydrated and should have been in hospital but didn’t know there were better drugs I could have asked for.

In my second pregancy I took phenargen at 5 weeks and then went onto odansetron at 8 weeks which was more effective. Neither of them stopped the sickness or nausea but kept me out of hospital. There are some good HG Facebook groups btw. It’s so awful and no one understands unless they have it. Don’t worry about the meds women have been taking them for years. I found cyclizine basically made me tired so I used it to help me sleep to pass the time away. I just spent weeks counting each day away until I would start to feel a little better! X

Hi, I had quite bad HG and took cyclizine almost immediately throughout my two pregnancies- it had no impact on my pregnancies, both babies were absolutely fine and although like others said it wasn’t a miracle worker, it did help me function and reduced the amount of times I was sick/ felt sick xx

Hi, so sorry to hear you’re suffering with nausea! It’s horrid!

I had HG throughout my pregnancy and had cyclizine once a day when it stayed down for a very large portion of the pregnancy. It just took the edge off so I could eat which was more important than not so it was very beneficial to me.

My baby is absolutely fine and doesn’t seem to be remotely affected by me having taken this medication.

Hope your symptoms improve soon!

Hey! I was prescribed this around week 7 of my pregnancy for extreme sickness, I’m 27 weeks now and am still taking it because of the sickness, I’m only taking 1 or 2 a day now as needed but it’s had no effect on baby at all. He’s still safe and healthy and growing as he should be.

Any concerns about medication just ask your midwife, if it’s a prescription that’s even easier. Hope that helps x

Hi, congrats on your pregnancy! I was prescribed these for HG and like you, was nervous. But I took them as I was so so bad at all hours of the day and night, I was struggling to function with the basics. They helped a little, and as someone above said, they bring it to a manageable level but don’t cure the sickness. My sickness disappeared in week 14. One day, I woke up and it was just… gone. Alleluia!! I noticed though, that the more effective remedy for me was, on feeling a real heavy wave of nausea (although you feel it all the time…) I sucked on a cinnamon lozenge and the slow intake of a little sugar, abated that heavy wave of sickness. I also kept Lucozade sport in my handbag and bedside to serve the same purpose. I sipped a little when it came over me heavily. I did not have any G diabetes and my baby girl was born perfectly. She’s very sassy now… I can’t blame that on sugar or cyclizine! I wish you well and hope the HG gets better. Wow it’s nasty… I know… best wishes xxx

Hey, same happened to me. Got the same medication, which seemed to work a bit at the beginning, but just doesn’t seem as helpful anymore. I’ve started with 3, then 2 or 1 as felt I really needed it. To be honest it seemed my body got used to it and the Med stopped doing its job …I’m nearly 9weeks, still navigating this awful period of nausea etc so hoping it ends soon. I feel you ♥️ we can just hope time flies during these days… wishing you all the best 🤰🏻♥️🥹

My heart goes out to everyone on this post - HG is truly awful. Speaking from current experience (11+3 weeks today, HG since around 4-5 weeks).

The best I think we can all do is know that we’re doing our best for our baby (or babies).

No one has an indefinite answer, nature is being cruel in this instance and however safe the drugs are, they ALL have side effects and risks.

Don’t feel pressured to choose either way; these are our bodies, our pregnancies and our babies and we are doing the best we can to make the right choices for them.

If you’re here reading or commenting on this post, you obviously are here because you want to do the right thing, you care about your baby and you are having to make what feels like an impossible decision. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably feeling guilty for wanting to take the medication (because you feel so unbearably sick that you’re unable to live a normal life right now) and also guilty for not wanting to take the medication in case your sickness is detrimental to baby, too. It feels like a lose-lose situation.

The only thing we can do is make a decision we are comfortable with and try not to be too harsh on ourselves for it. And if you change your mind, that’s ok too. Trust yourself & your maternal instinct & know that you’re doing what you feel is best for you and baby.

You’ve got this ❤️ Don’t let anyone else make you feel like you’re not doing your best. You know that you’re putting baby first, even if they don’t want to accept that!

I've been put on it since 6 weeks, I'm now 11 weeks. I've found it difficult to stomach due to the taste, and I usually vomit within a few minutes of taking it, if I taste it. I've now started taking it when covered in biscoff spread and that seems to work. It does help, but I'm very anxious around the taste and vomiting after, but there are working when I keep them down. All the best
