Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have any tips to help get a baby used to a sling/carrier?
My child is just crying when I attempt to put him inside.
I have tried doing it after he is fed so otherwise content, but nothing works.
I don't want to force it - but I really wanted to be able to be more mobile and use it around the house too when I need to help with my older child.
Anyone have any tips or experience this?

so frustrating!! My first was a koala baby and my second didn’t like it. I ended up just trying a few different carriers until one was manageable for her she hated the wrap with a passion , if you get the padded hip ones it’s like they are on a little seat they are quite nice or you could attempt wrapping them on your back ? Tricky to learn I think . Good luck!!
What sort of carrier are you using? I found different babies and people had different slings that worked for them better. We liked the Tula carrier best and I didn't get on with a ring sling or the big wraps, I found them too claustrophobic. You could see if there's a sling library in your area and try out a few and get tips on getting baby comfy in them.
Sling library's as someone else mentioned are great. You can try different carriers, get advice on correct positioning and wearing. Also rent them for a week to test out. I attended one because my little one was small and I couldnt find the right carrier for her. Even if you rent out carrier with them, there is no pressure to actual buy a carrier from them. I did find useful clips on YouTube about correct positioning and baby wearing. There are brand specific clips that may be helpful. I also found with my second at one stage he got a bit grumpy going into the carrier, but as soon as I was moving he was fine. It's great your trying when your baby is content. Just a thought about clothing, sling/carrier is an extra layer and they have your body heat, just incase their getting too hot. Good luck, it might just be finding the right style for you and baby.
our little guy liked his space and just wouldn’t take to a sling (hated being swaddled or cuddled to sleep too just likes to stretch out still does at 2🤣) we got one of the rocker chairs that was light and we could move about from room to room (took baby out when moving but it was easy to lift with one hand on baby and carry on the other) so that he could chill and my hands could be free for 10-15mins to do something. Thought I’d mention in case you end up same as us with the sling just not happening. I was fine with it but my other half was gutted as they really wanted to walk about with the baby and the sling for some reason but babies often have other ideas of their own don’t they 🤣xx
