VBAC Or Natural After 2 Sections?

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby. My first was a C-Section then i had a VBAC which went smoothly then i had an emergency C-Section. The consultant im seeing wasnt at my appointment but I saw a registrar. He was pretty rude and told me i had no choice but to have another C-Section and would want me to be sterilised at the same time. I point blank said no. Since then I've spoken to my regular consultant who informed me I'd be having my baby at 38 weeks as i have Gestational Diabetes and am on insulin. She said she wojld advise a C-Section but a natural isnt out of the question. There is not enough evidence to show that an induction could be more risky and make my scar more at risk of rupturing.

Has anybody had a VBAC after 2 C-Section?

I have to admit I thought you could only have a VBAC after 1 section. And once you’ve had 2 it’s not advisable. I assume because the scar has been opened twice and as you say may rupture. Good on you for wanting a VBAC and it being straight forward. After the complications I had with my first pregnancy and c section I’m not sure I’d put myself through that again and would just book in a section. The reason they’ll advise a section with GDM is that the baby can be big and difficult to birth but if your 36 week scan is all good then that shouldn’t be a problem.

I've had GD 3 times before so i know my baby will be bigger but my consultant said i can have a natural or a c section but both will carry risks so just looking to see if anybody else was in the same position xx

I would ask what the risks are. Because I would have thought the c section carried the least risk (in hindsight in my first pregnancy I was offered one ahead of Induction and I wish I’d taken it). I’d never want to go through induction again so would probably book a c section in the view that I may not go into labour as quickly. Sorry I can’t offer any advice on your particular situation. But good luck whichever route you choose

See my first c section was awful. I ended up back in hospital after i collapsed. So that's why i went for an induction for my second and it was a great birth. My third baby was bigger so i went for a c section and to be fair again it was a positive experience so a c section may be better for me but its just a hard choice xx
