I had it on my first baby, however it wasn’t picked up until my waters actually broke. I didn’t have any issues throughout the pregnancy although suffered from terrible constipation (which I never thought to bring up in my midwife appointments) which, reading about it, is a sign of Polyhydramnios. The only thing that happened with me is that the Nicu team had to be present at the birth to give baby a check over when he was born, I think they said it’s because it could be caused by an issue with the baby’s kidneys. All was fine with my baby though and no follow ups were ever needed.

oh glad to hear baby is ok. I just had my obgyn appt and i was now at 36w4d and baby’s head still not engaged. They feel my tummy, and mention too much fluid. I will have my scan in 2days to check if they can turn the baby and to confirm the fluid. Did your baby engaged before birth?

Actually my son was partially engaged from about 29/30 weeks and carried on being partially engaged throughout all of my midwife appointments so I don’t think the excess waters had any impact on that side of things (or certainly not with me). He ended up being born 41+4 so I wouldn’t worry too much about baby not being engaged as that didn’t count for anything with me.

I had a scan on my current pregnancy around 29 weeks and the waters were all looking okay, they said slightly higher in one of the measurements but that measurement was likely caused by the way the baby was positioned. I’m 34 weeks pregnant now and baby isn’t engaged at all so I think it’s just different for every baby.

I hope everything goes okay for you xx

thank you! Just had my US and technician said its not Polyhydraminion, but did have generous amount of fluid. Still not engage. Head is high kinda near pelvis. Waiting for midwife whats the plan if they need to do ECV. Hopefully your baby’s head get engaged in the next few days. Still have plenty of time 😊
