Periods after birth

Hi,

Just wondered what your experience was of periods following birth?

I am bleeding heavy every 10 - 14 days for 10 days minimum at a time. By heavy, I mean, more than I did even straight after giving birth.

This wasn’t normal for me, prior to birth, I was regular every 28 days and bled for 5-6 days

I am currently under the care of my GP, have had bloods taken, examination, and have colposcopy booked and pelvic ultrasound…

But I’m trying to understand in advance, what could be possibly causing this?

Have you experienced anything similar?

How far post partum are you? It could be you have something left from the birth maybe? So that’s good you are being checked out. I was breastfeeding so my periods didn’t come back for over a year. If they do come back sooner what you’re describing definitely isn’t normal, so hopefully the scan will find something x

Oh goodness that must be exhausting. Have they done any scans in the last 7 months? I wonder if it could be something like fibroids? X

That’s what they are thinking… or have said could be a possibility. No, no scans just examinations. Which they’ve said I’ve a red angry looking cervix but that wouldn’t cause the amount of bleeding I’m experiencing…! They also said it could be the new normal. Which I’m not buying. Or potentially a side effect from covid jab…

We’ll wait and see. I’ll keep you posted x

I don’t believe that either! Some women have had effects from the jab but in my experience of reading about it, more like one or two times not every month! If they can’t figure out what it is they should be able to help treat it anyway x
