Is it normal to experience a cramping feeling in early pregnancy?

I am very newly pregnant (I think only 3 weeks or so) and this is my first pregnancy. I have spoken to a midwife who said as long as there is no bleeding I should be fine as my uterus is stretching, but, I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this? I've had it for the last week and it comes and goes - I don't want to overexert myself and my partner and I have refrained from "getting busy" for now to be safe as I had a miscarriage in July. Would really appreciate your thoughts!

I’m around 4.5 weeks with my second pregnancy and from my experience first time and in the last couple of weeks I’d say it’s perfectly normal to be having cramps. For me they feel a bit like light period pains. I’d agree with your midwife, it’s just your body getting ready to carry a growing baby. Congratulations on your pregnancy 😍

Hi there. Also normal for me too, I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow and I’ve had mild cramps most of the way through. Midwife said it was normal and not to worry, but obviously if the pain becomes severe or you start to bleed, ring your EPU x

Thank you for responding :) the more I read the more I feel at ease - it’s just feels like such a strange/big feeling when it’s so small! X
