Period hasn’t returned after b/feeding

Hey all, has this happened to you?

My periods were irregular before getting pregnant but I still don’t have my first period yet and my son is 9.5mo.

Should I see doc or will they tell me to wait until my son is 12mo(March2022) and/or Ive not been b/feeding for a full 12mo (i.e. September2022)

For context - My son is 9.5mo, I stopped b/feeding when he was 6.5mo (I.e. stopped b/feeding 3mo ago). I was exclusively b/feeding for probs 5mo and introduced formula as a top up for the last month of my b/feeding journey before switching over to formula completely.

Any advice is greatly appreciated x

I would give your doctor a call, when you're breastfeeding it's fairly normal to not have a period, but even breastfeeding they should return at at some point, I breastfed my first up to 16 months but my period came back when she was 12 months old.

Would speak to your gp if you stopped 3 months ago. I don't get periods whilst I feed (even one feed a night). With my second had no periods for 18months, but did get them the month after I stopped.

I’d agree - give your doctor a call just to check. Mine returned after only three months even though I was exclusively breastfeeding.
