Dates not matching up

Hi had a scan today due to bleeding when I wee. The date from my period show I should be 9 weeks but the scan shows around 6 weeks they detected a heart beat but have said because the dates are so out its likely to be a failing pregnancy unfortunately I just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar?

Hi Doris, I had very similar. Period date suggested 9 weeks but early scan due to bleed showed 6 weeks (with a heartbeat), had to have another scan 4 weeks later due to another bleed, they couldn't find the source of the bleed but all was well with a healthy heartbeat and measuring at 10 weeks. I'm now 26+ 4 and she regularly lets me know she is awake!

I had a bleed and went for a scan at EPU and it was nearly 3 weeks out. I was 7+5 when I should have been 10+2 by LMP. They didn’t seem too concerned though and said the pregnancy was viable. I haven’t had any bleeding since that day so I am awaiting my 12 week scan in 9 days so hoping all is well. I didn’t track my ovulation so I really don’t know when I ovulated but I know it would have been later due to the dates that I had sex that month. Did you track your ovulation and do you know for sure that the dates are out? If not then I don’t see how they can confirm the pregnancy is failing without a second follow up scan. You should request one if they have not offered.
