I'm new here and glad to be. I have just been called for a physical meeting at the office, after my 2nd stage of job Interview and it looks positive. I want the role but now I am scared because I have been extremely weak this whole week and have been unable to finish even my normal chores. I have been sleeping too much and dealing with back ache . I might resume on the 19th of July. I do not know if I will cope with a new sales job with 6 weeks pregnancy. I'm also scared about my performances upon resumption and if they will want to continue with the process if they know I'm pregnant and weak. Has anyone been in this situation before, please how did you deal with the weakness and nausea at work.
PS: This is my first pregnancy and I have been looking for a job for awhile and glad i finally "got" one.
Thank You

Have you started taking pre natal vitamins? I guess you could start by having a check up with the gp to see what is causing you to be soo weak and if there is something you can take. I also took medication for nausea as i was not able to feel well at work otherwise. It really helped! Best of luck for the pregnancy and the new job!
Thanks sis. No, I haven't started vitamins, was kinda waiting the GP go ahead on best vit, but haven't heard from them. Can you advise on what vitamins to get?
The basic Pregnacare pregnancy formula is a good starting point for vitamins. If you are weak it would definitely be worth seeing the GP ASAP as you may be anaemic. For nausea, good quality ginger beer (Fever Tree is I think the best for me) and low dose vitamin B6 (10mg 3x a day - I take 2 a day as Pregnacare also has it in) have been my lifesavers. xx
The first few weeks can be quite difficult as your hormones are a bit all over the place, with morning sickness etc. but you should start to feel better as your pregnancy progresses and as you get into your second trimester.Work can't discriminate against you for being pregnant so if you haven't told them already you might want to do that they are understanding of why you're off and allow you to do the interview another time or over the phone/zoom etc. They will need to do a risk assessment for you and make sure that you are looked after.
I would probably second everyone else saying you should go to the gp and get checked over, while morning sickness and hormones are high in your first trimester to feel so weak you can't go to work isn't great and you might need some extra support. Have you got your booking in appointment scheduled with your midwife yet? Part of that will be taking your bloods and medical information so might be worth checking when they can book you in, it's not normally till about 8 weeks, but they may be able to see you sooner if you ask them.
Thank you again. I am due to see midwife next month. I hope I'll be better soon. Could not resume the job. I hope this morning and afternoon sickness passes soon
