Pulling abdominal and calf muscles in sleep

Hi all, I’m 29 weeks. Today, I woke up feeling like I pulled my abdominal and calf muscles together. I have no lasting pain, but both sets of muscles pulled for a few seconds as I breathed deep while waking up. This has also happened a couple of times earlier. Wonder if anyone has experienced this and if this is likely to cause distress to my baby. Thanks in advance!

Hi I had that lots in my last pregnancy, lots of painful random cramps in legs mainly. It’s just one of those things I think. I drunk lots of water, tried to move around frequently and bought a magnesium oil spray to rub on my legs every day which actually helped a lot. I was told it could be a lack of magnesium on the muscles. The spray stings for the first few times so if you decide to use it, use sparingly at first until your skin is used to it.

Thank you Bigblueskies ! I try to drink lots of water but didn’t know about the magnesium oil spray. Will definitely try it out. Thanks again!
